We arrived in the Ross of Mull in November, to start a new bunkhouse business in this beautiful part of Mull which we have visited many times. We are currently renovating the cottage in the grounds of Achaban House which will provide budget accommodation for families, couples, individuals and groups. The two bunkrooms each sleeping four have been completely renovated and refurbished and will provide a cosy and comfortable nights sleep. There are two shower rooms which are also newly renovated which will provide lots of hot water after a day in the outdoors. The newly installed woodburner stove will ensure a warm atmosphere and the shared facilities are comfortable and well-equipped.
Getting the accommodation ready is a major focus but in truth we cant wait to introduce our guests to what is outside - the amazing variety of wildlife, scenery and activities on offer in this exceptional corner of Mull. Even in the 6 acres of Achaban House, we regularly see hen harriers, kestrels, sparrowhawks, owls and red deer stags. Just the other day we spotted an otter in Loch Pottie which can be seen from the grounds. Whenever we can we go exploring to discover yet another fabulous beach, landcape or sea scape that takes your breath away, with sightings of dolphins or a white-tailed eagle and with the day often ending in a glorious sunset. And if this is winter - summer is going to be spectacular! We look forward to getting out on bikes and boats once spring arrives and discovering all the wonderful plant life that is currently hidden.
