The wildlife is out and about in the autumn months, especially the red deer stags which are coming in to their rutting season. Eagles, hen harriers and other raptors are seen locally, whooper swans stop over on Loch Pottie, the seals are hauled out on the rocks at Fidden Beach and you might be lucky to spot an otter, especially if we tell you the best places to look!
Autumn is a good time to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Isle of Iona. If you like the idea of a boat trip, they should run to Staffa from Fionnphort Pier until the end of October, weather permitting.
The bunkrooms are perfect for a cosy night in after a day outside, with plenty of logs for the wood burning stove and all the facilities you need for self-catering. We are always happy to make sure you have everything you need and provide additional information for a perfect stay.
