A spring short break on the Isle of Mull

March 3, 2019

March has arrived and the landscape is starting to burst into colour, with primroses, daffodils, gorse and willow catkins adding a welcome splash of bright yellow everywhere. All our winter tasks are complete and we are enjoying meeting lots of new guests and welcoming previous guests back to the Bunkrooms. This year we are not offering individual bunks, book the cottage for up to 8 people or a private rooms with bathroom for up to 4 people .  We have also changed our prices to reflect the number of guests in a room or for a cottage booking, as this seems fairer. Bookings are accepted for two, three or four guests in a room, or five, six, seven or eight guests in the cottage.  Book your accommodation online here>

We have also set seasonal discounted prices for March, September and October 2019 - so have a look at our special offers page here> - there is still time to have a great value Spring Break to the Ross of Mull!

The sounds of spring are in the air, especially the birdsong which is increasing by the day in the trees around the cottage.  The garden is full of coal tits, chaffinches, greenfinches, goldfinches, wrens, goldcrests, long tailed tits and dunnocks as well as an increased number of blackbirds, starlings and thrushes. The blue tits, great tits and sparrows are checking out the nestboxes around the garden and as usual are choosing the ones not designed for their species!  Bird enthusiasts might be interested to know that we do also spot eagles, hen harriers, owls and other rare species from the garden all the year round.

With seven silver-sand beaches to explore and the magical isle of Iona just a ten-minute ferry ride away, Ross of Mull Bunkrooms offer the perfect spring getaway.

April and May are starting to fill up with bookings but there is still availability at this lovely time of year, heralding the arrival of song of the cuckoo and skylark, hen harriers “skydancing”, boat trips to Staffa and Treshnish Isles and the return of puffins and dolphins.  We hope you are tempted to visit and that we get a repeat of the amazing warm spring sunshine we enjoyed last year!
